Cochin Talkies Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. was ideated in March 2022 by Vinod Raman Nair and Abhinay Bahurupi to produce high quality, important, honest, thought provoking, profitable low-budget theatrical motion pictures, documentaries, TVCs, music videos and television programming to be experienced by a wide variety of audiences. Cochin Talkies Entertainment Pvt. Ltd was formed in 2023 in MUMBAI by producer writer/director/author /producer Vinod Raman Nair, music producer and composer Abhinay Bahurupi and producer Sinjo Abraham, for the sole purpose of producing the motion picture, “Mlecchan” in Malayalam language.

We have overcome numerous challenges in this turbulent, ever-changing landscape that often defies the realities of filmmaking, specially documentaries: from working in the heart of West Asia, the journey of East Europe following the Warsaw Pact or the mystics of the Korean peninsula and then to the realm of the dragon… the eternal China… exploring rarely contacted tribes to navigating the dynamic, bustling metropolises.
MUMBAI MATINEE is a subsidiary of COCHIN TALKIES. It is internationally known for its commitment to producing quality fiction and documentary films by auteur directors who tell compelling stories in new and artistic ways.
The internationally acclaimed filmmakers MUMBAI MATINEE has worked with include Turkish film maker Mustafa Altioklar, Korean film maker Kwon Taek, Stanely Huntsman, Makatsara Irkali, and British filmmaker/actor Alex Goldwin, Hungarian film maker Gyorgy Cutzor.
Our company has been involved in numerous co-productions with producers in East Europe, South Korea, Thailand, China and Sri Lanka building strong relationships with our partners which have helped to open new markets for our films.
COCHIN TALKIES THEATER GROUP
Having come into being in 2023, CTTG picked up momentum with it’s debut play ‘NAVA ADHYAY’ in Marathi, which premiered at the Moti Mahal auditorium to full house. Today, CTTG is the fastest growing theater group with bodies of work in Marathi and Hindi Theatre, participating in numerous festivals and having travelled extensively in India and abroad with its productions. Starting with an almost non-existent theatre audience in a tier II city like Amravati, CTTC took on the task of creating a regular theatre-going and ticket-buying audience in Amravati while laying the foundations and uniting a group of committed theatre workers.
Today, CTTC’s repertoire spans from original Hindi, Marathi works to the best in national & international theatre, covering everything from thought-provoking, serious, tragic courtroom dramas to deeply comical and outright farcical plays. Now, CTTC is also creating theatre with and for children. CTTC visions to break language barriers and produce plays in all regional languages.
Under the stewardship of our Founding Director, Mr. Chandrakant Bahurupi, CTTC continues to seek unique horizons of growth. CTTC marks its annual milestones with plans to conduct theatre festivals in various Indian cities partnering with local theatre groups and associations. This unique collaboration involves local / regional theatre groups and provides opportunities for valuable learning for us and theatre groups across the country.

Along with ‘Nava Adhyay’, an original playwright by Mr. Chandrakant Bahurupi, other prominent plays in CTTC repertoire include Ashok Patole written classical ‘Aai Retire Hote’, ‘Bhakshak’, ‘Anjaan’ and others.
