Mr. Chandrakant Bahurupi

Chief mentor

Chandrakant Bahurupi is a respected Marathi playwriter theatre director, poet, actor, and cultural artist from Achalpur, Maharashtra. Being an astute academician, he served as the Principal of Municipal Junior College, Achalpur, connecting with the youth. Alongside his distinguished career in education, he has made significant contributions to Marathi theatre and literature through writing, directing, acting, and musical performances. His notable literary works include the plays Bhakshak, Anjan, and Nava Adhyay, while his upcoming work is Shambhavi. He has also published a poetry collection titled Udwveg. As a theatre director, he has directed several acclaimed productions such as Bhakshak, Bhovra, Beimaan, Beauty Queen, Gandhich Karaych Kay?, Bakra Kishtope, Nava Adhyay, and Aai Retire Hotoy, in addition to many short college one-act plays. His play Anjan received the Outstanding Literary Creation State Award 2020 from the Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Parishad and the Sant Namdev State-Level Drama Literature Award 2020. He was also honored with the Jeevan Gaurav Award by Bharavi Kala Academy. Further adding to his literary recognition, his poem Parkalp was included in the B.A. Part II Marathi Literature syllabus of Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University. Apart from literature and theatre, he has actively contributed to orchestra production, theatre acting, and percussion performances including Congo and Octapad, making him a versatile and respected figure in Maharashtra’s cultural and artistic community.
